As the nation’s longest-running recognition program for teens, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards needed to find more modern way to reach out to its young audience. The goal was to incorporate more shareable content—like videos, images, gifs, and surveys—that could be posted on multiple social media platforms, including the Scholastic Awards’ blog, in order to generate more likes, shares, and follows.
Instagram provided the visual appeal to which the Scholastic Awards strives and an audience that is within the target demographic. By creating a content strategy, establishing a visual voice, and developing a consistent social media schedule, both the community and engagement increased and has continued to grow every week.
